Piece for Peace Pizza Party to Raise Funds for Victims of Cyclone Idai in Mozambique

Olá, tudo bem? Join RPCVLA at Blaze Pizza Pasadena to raise funds for victims of Cyclone Idai!

In March 2019, Cyclone Idai devastated Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and Malawi. The intense tropical cyclone has affected over 3 million people, with over 1,000 confirmed dead and thousands more missing. In addition, devastating diseases are rapidly spreading with over 4,000 confirmed cases of cholera and seven fatalities as of April 10th. The number of victims is quickly increasing as the waters recede.

RPCVLA is teaming up with Friends of Mozambique to raise funds to help victims of Cyclone Idai.

When: Thursday, May 9th, 2019 from 3:00-8:00pm

Where: Blaze Pizza - North Pasadena, 643 North Fair Oaks Avenue (south of Orange Grove Blvd.)

RPCV Josh Echeverria (Mozambique 2009-2011) will be talking about his experience as a community health volunteer in Mozambique. During his service, he worked in health education and community outreach, which gives him insight into Mozambique’s current health challenges.

Blaze Pizza will donate 20% of the evening’s net sales to our fundraiser. Funds will go directly to disaster relief for the victims of Cyclone Idai.
