Why is this website acting funny on my computer?

This website is optimized for Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher and Netscape 4.7 or higher. It hasn't been tested in other browsers, although it should work in most of them. If you are using AOL's browser and are having problems, try connecting to the Internet via AOL as usual. Once connected, minimize your AOL browser. Then open up Internet Explorer and revisit this site.

If you experience any problems or bugs with our site, please send an email to webmaster@rpcvla.org. Tell us details of the problem including the page you were on, and if possible, the browser and version you were using and your operating system. I joined the mailing list, how come I never received a confirmation email?

Two reasons... the opt-in (confirmation) email either went to a junk folder in your email program, or it was blocked because your Internet provider mistakenly thought it was spam. First check to see if there is an email from webmaster@rpcvla.org in your junk folder. Be sure to put webmaster@rpcvla.org on your "safe list" or contacts list/address book. If you find the opt-in email, follow the simple instructions to confirm your subscription.

If you can't find the opt-in email, please email us at webmaster@rpcvla.org with your full name and email address, and we'll help you get on the mailing list. Since our program is automated, it requires that you respond by clicking on a link sent to the email address you provided. You cannot join the mailing list without this confirmation step. We apologize for any inconvenience, but that extra step keeps our list 100% permission-based and spam-free.

If have any other problems joining the list, such as error messages, email us at webmaster@rpcvla.org with a detailed explanation of the problem.

Is my information kept private when I submit forms on this site?

Unless specifically stated on the form, your personal information will remain confidential and will not be shared with any third party. In cases where you submit a form such as "Find a Volunteer", the information you provide, including your contact information, will be posted.

I submitted a form days ago... why haven't I received a reply?

One possibility is that the information didn't get to us due to a technical glitch or server breakdown. Another possibility is that the board member who received your request is out of town. We try our best to reply in a timely manner, but sometimes busy schedules and trips prevent us from doing so. If you haven't received a reply in over a week, locate the board member whose position is related to your request and email them directly, or email us at info@rpcvla.org. Thank you for understanding.

How do I open PDF files such as the membership application?

You will need the Adobe Reader to view PDF files. If you don't have the Reader, you can click here to download it for free.

I clicked on a link, but nothing happened. What's wrong?

You may have pop-up blocking software on your computer. Try disabling your pop-up blocker for our website. Some of the latest browsers come with pop-up blockers activated. You will usually get a warning or see an icon that will allow you to disable the pop-up blocker.

You can also try disabling the pop-up blocker temporarily by holding down the [ CONTROL ] key while clicking on the link.

If none of these steps work, maybe it's a bad link! In that case, please let us know with an email to webmaster@rpcvla.org.

I clicked on an email address... why did I get a warning message?

Your browser is probably not configured to open the right email program if you happen to click on a linked email address. In that case, we recommend you use our Contact Form to contact us. Another option is to copy the email address, log into your regular email program and paste the email address into a new message.
